So if you are looking to live in walking distance to Cisco SJ, I suggest taking a look at the NorthPark apt complex. http://www.rental-living.com/northpark.aspx
I lived there when I was an intern in the summer of 2005. It has a gym (though Cisco does as well for you all to use), pools, park, running track, and a Quiznos and Starbucks in the complex. It pretty much rocked.
Its about .25 miles from the center of Cisco where John Chambers, CEO sits....
PS- John Chambers will be hosting the keynote to welcome you all to campus on Jun 21 in SJ. Ed Paradise, area VP will lead up the RTP kick-off and Alan Kirby, VP in Boxbourogh.

Judging by the prices on the website, this place might be too upscale for most interns, unless you can have 4 people living in the 2 bedroom layout.

You can also get in touch with students from SJSU. Send a mail to the moderator of the SJSU ISO yahoo group and ask him to forward your request to the Indian students there. Many students visit India in Summer and will be glad to sub-lease their rooms to you. Rent ranges from $200 to $350 a month.
The location is around 10 miles away from the Cisco campus and pretty close to the VTA lightrail station (for which you can obtain free Ecopasses from Cisco).

another apartment complex to consider if you want to be close to Cisco is Elan villages. It is a little cheaper then NorthPark with a 2 bdrm, 2 bath for $1700/month. It is less then a mile away from the south end of Cisco way.
